5A molecular sieve is a chemical substance with a molecular formula of 3/4CaO·1/4Na2O·Al2O3·2SiO2·9/2H2O and an effective pore size of about 5Å (1Å=0.1 nanometer), or about 0.48~0.57nm. 5A molecular sieve belongs to alkali metal aluminosilicate with A-type crystal structure, with a specific pore size and adsorption capacity, and can adsorb any molecule with a diameter smaller than its pore size.

Physical properties:
5A molecular sieve is usually in the form of strips or spheres, and the diameter range can be adjusted according to different application requirements, such as 1.5-1.7mm, 3.0-3.3mm, 2.0-3.0mm, 3.0-5.0mm, etc. It has the characteristics of high selective adsorption and fast adsorption speed, and is particularly suitable for pressure swing adsorption (PSA) process. In addition, 5A molecular sieve dissolves in strong acids or strong bases and decomposes, but is insoluble in water and organic solvents and is hygroscopic, so it needs to avoid direct contact with water, acid, and alkali during storage.
Application fields:
Natural gas processing: used for drying, desulfurization, and decarbonation of natural gas to improve the purity of natural gas.
Gas separation: plays an important role in the separation of nitrogen and oxygen and nitrogen and hydrogen, and can produce high-purity oxygen, nitrogen and hydrogen.
Petroleum processing: used for petroleum dewaxing, separation of normal hydrocarbons from branched hydrocarbons and cyclic hydrocarbons, and improvement of the quality of petroleum products.
